'The Orphanage' feels less of a horror movie but rather a family tragedy movie with horror elements. Rather than relying on excessive depictions of gore or cheap jump scares, the 'horror' is based more on the very real emotions of losing a child and the subsequent attempts to cope with grief, seeking refuge in increasingly fantastical imaginations.
