Superbad

Perfect case study on the hyper sexualization of teenage boys addicted to porn. Seriously, throughout this entire movie Jonah Hill, Michael Cera and Christopher Plasse encapsulate each versions of this same character — Jonah Hill being the most selfish and depraved caricature, Cera as the middle ground who’s clearly depraved but still respects women, and Fogell, someone who shouldn’t have anything go their way due to their awkwardness, Yet it does. I know it’s a comedy movie but it really is alarming how many people act like this nowadays without it being surreal or funny 😭 anyways, Seth Rogan and Bill Hader as the cops were hilarious. Emma stone had great moments. All around, hilarious movie with iconic moments throughout. An essential movie if you like comedy, probably.  • Story / Plot: 6.5 • World Building / Setting: 6.5 • Characters: 8 • Writing / Structure: 7.75 • Performances: 8 • Craft / Presentation: 7 • Concept / Originality: 7 • Pacing: 7.75 • Ending / Resolution: 7 • Personal Enjoyment: 8.5 Average Rating: 7.40 Comedy Rating: 8.50 Final Rating: 8.00 Happy Rating
