Superman
After watching The Batman I felt the urge to watch this as well. James Gunn’s vision on Superman is a respectable adaptation of a “true” Superman. After Snyder’s god-like version, this feels like a breath of fresh air in a way. Corenswet is a good Superman, weak, but good. Lex Luthor outshines basically everyone in this film, Nicholas Hoult channeled every ounce of hatred into being an alien hating bald man. 👨🏻🦲 the supporting cast is also fine, not my favorite. Narratively I enjoy the the world conflict, I feel as though it’s important for Superman to start on grounds such as these. He’s scrutinized for most of the movie and has these impossible standards to live by, keep doing that. I enjoyed this movie, however I’m not convinced by it fully. Everything adds up, but maybe I’m just not a huge Superman fan. It was enjoyable, and I’d say it’s good. But that’s all I’d give it. Some great acting, cool visuals, fine fight scenes. I can see where Gunn is going with this, and for cinematic universe fans I believe it’ll be fun to watch unfold. I just don’t know if I’ll be there every step of the way.
