At the end of the day she changed, she no longer felt the love for the painter as she first did when a child. And thats also why she detested herself for it, she knew what exactly changed in her. Chasing for the painter and the key just became a part of her life, something that kept her going until she eventually died. But even after her death, she will keep chasing after him.  “After all, it’s the chasing after him I really love.”    Other than the premise the animation was beautiful, especially the transitions whwh. The weird reality/memory/fiction way of storytelling was also really cool. Honestly a very fine watch also not very long.
