Nah man… this was a crazy sleeper. Just raw. Never cared for Superman. Never cared for James Gunn. Trailer didn’t do anything for me. Someone I know wanted to see it so I thought man…getting some popcorn and an icee sounding real good right now. Walked out realizing the version of Superman I’d written off might’ve just not existed yet Always measured up a superhero movie to Raimi’s Spider-Man. Tobey could really never be beat (still can’t). I’ve always felt like the kids coming up today wouldn’t get that same thing—that emotional weight where the suit doesn’t feel like a costume, it feels like consequence This might be the first time they do Also Clark’s parents look like people you’d see at a MedExpress in West Virginia—Tudor’s biscuit, high cholesterol, ibuprofen in the glovebox. That’s the kind of grounded I’m looking for Cape felt earned.
