Prisoners
The ‘you were there’ reveal was unreal and literally had you holding your breath for the remainder of the final act.
The twist that followed shortly after was well earned and literally had me recreating that ‘edge of the seat, locking in’ meme.
Both leads played a big role in making this movie reach the heights that it did and showed two men with two completely different set of cards trying to achieve the very same goal; finding the missing girls. The contrast in their approaches was so loud, and was perfectly displayed with the multiple points throughout the movie where their heads clashed.
Side note though, but I found Franklin annoying af. I know the main point of his character was for him to create a moral tug of war for the viewers; but I logically can’t excuse how passive he was when dealing with Alex. Claiming he’d die for his daughter but practically had to be forced to take matters into his own hands - but bro wanted to be that generic ‘let the cops do their job’ NPC.
Anyways the conclusion was both bleak and satisfying; and I guess was a price worth paying.
