Barry Lyndon
This is the most beautifully shot movie I think I’ve ever seen. I felt like I was walking through a historic art museum and marveling at hand-painted masterpieces. It was about as engaging as a 3 hour long movie could be, although I’ll admit that my attention span briefly started to waver in the beginning of Part II. The acting, costuming, and set design really sold this period piece. It had its surprisingly funny and occasionally heartfelt moments throughout, which kept me engaged with the epic scale of the plot. Stanley Kubrick really was a master of his craft.
