Interstellar
Just re-watched this masterpiece for the first time in like 4 years. When I really think about it, this is probably one of the first movies I saw that started getting me interested in the world of film. Next to maybe Alien and 2001, this has gotta be one of the best science fiction movies of all time. Part of my reasoning is that there are very few sci-fi films that have real emotional depth to them. The scene at the end with Murph and Coop always makes me tear up. Other highlights include the Hans Zimmerman score (which is perfect) and the amazing visual effects. I’m not a Nolan fanboy by any means, and I have at least some gripes with all of his other movies. However, this is undoubtedly his magnum opus. It mostly avoids the pitfalls of his other films (poorly written female characters, indecipherable plots, and bad sound mixing). I can’t really name a flaw in it, this movie is just so good that I’m bumping it up to 5 stars.
Also WAIT A MINUTE THAT WAS TIMOTHEE CHALAMET???
