Jacob's LadderTrizzo9.4· November 19, 2024Follow“Jacob's Ladder is a ladder or staircase leading to heaven that was featured in a dream the biblical Patriarch Jacob had during his flight from his brother Esau in the Book of Genesis” - Wikipedia This film is the story of a dying soldier’s soul on a journey through hell. Jacob must absolve himself of the guilt which weighs him down before he will ever have the chance to reach his ladder to heaven. Inside his slowly slipping mind, he is riddled with guilt from the death of his child, the betrayal of his platoon, and extramarital lust. Wrestling his inner demons in the form of disfigured devils and shady government agents, he eventually comes to forgive himself with the help of his guardian angel chiropractor. This was a very thought provoking movie that combined two of my favorite genres- psychological horror and military/war. It would be hard for me not to really like this. On a side note, I was shocked to see both Kevin from Home Alone and George Costanza in this in such minor roles, it was almost distracting from the plot. Title card rating: 3/10, it does its job I guessCommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the app
