Bone Tomahawk
I’m actually so surprised by how much I adored this film. The dialogue was expertly done, I cared about all the characters and adored hearing the conversations they had between eachother. The story itself was fairly simple but it completely worked and even though it could be considered slow at times, for me I was always glued to the screen and engaged. Then of course with classic Craig Zahler there is the over the top gorey scenes and they do not disappoint when presented. The cinematography and the wise choice of not shoving over bearing music down our ears every 4 seconds is a treat. My only complaint would be Patrick Wilson’s acting didn’t hold up to those of Kurt Russell, Matthew Fox (who’s character I adored) and Richard Jenkins. But yeah, he stuck out and felt like another actor should’ve really took on that role. Wonderful film, one of the best I’ve seen so far this year.
