Zero Day
This is definitely one of my favorites. The characterization, acting, and found-footage vibe add up to the excellent execution of such an amazing indie film. Both Cal and Andre are great protagonists. Two High School students consumed by hatred and God-like ambition lead up perfectly to the dramatic and emotional ending of their lives. According to Cal, "Most teenagers end their life without any meaning. Thousands die and their deaths all remain meaningless. Except for them. They'll be remembered for decades. They'll bring meaning to their death." Something like that. He compares their final act to that of a Samurai. This film is beautiful. It's such a shame many people mis-characterize both Cal and Andre. This is a must-watch.
