Moneyball
I know you may be asking yourself…
Why in the world is a sports movie rated so high? And not just a sports movie, but a movie about a sport like baseball? Not even a “fun, fast” sport like football or basketball?
My answer?
Watch this movie and then ask yourself, “How can you not be romantic about baseball?”
Brad Pitt takes a break from his “big hit” movies in 2011; runs the risk, and put together with the help of Jonah Hill, the greatest sports movie ever made.
There is comedy, drama, and romance. Brad Pitt struggles through juggling divorced life with a daughter at home, and trying to make the Oakland A’s relevant in a sport dominated by the Boston Red Sox, and New York Yankees. “There are rich teams and there are poor teams. Then there is 50 feet of crap, and then there’s us”.
0 money, 0 time, 0 leash, 1 risk, 1 chance. Brad goes all in, and it changes the shape of America’s pastime forever.
Throw in a bright Jonah Hill and a young Chris Pratt and it changes the scope of a moderately good sports movie to a 94% on rotten tomatoes and the greatest sports movie I’ve ever seen.
