The Criterion Challenge 2026: 37. Must see Criterion released films as featured on Danny Peary’s “Guide for the Film Fanatic” (1986) Such a simple premise told with such honesty. Compelling yet ultimately devastating picture on desperation and division. Bruno witnessing in realtime that his father is not the hero he thought he was. Really powerful stuff.
