Cabaret
This film is repressed. Deep below the flashy surface lies an anger, a rage that only shows itself in flashes, but a rage that is ever present. This rage consumes. It shows itself as comedy, mere entertainment, but it is still a seething, billowing rage. This rage is an alcohol. It finds its way in through laughter and celebration, pouring into the stomachs of many and leaving slight, addicting burn that entices another sip until the whole bottle is empty. This rage is a Cabaret.
