Freaks
Hooptober 12 9/31
Freaks is like if a morality play got drunk at a carnival and decided to make you cry and question your soul at the same time.
It’s wild how a movie from 1932 feels this raw and modern — no jump scares, no fancy effects, just pure, uncomfortable humanity. The “normal” people are awful, the so-called “freaks” are angels, and the ending? Absolute perfection.
It’s grotesque, tender, and somehow kind of heartwarming — like a hug from someone holding a knife.
True cinema for the weirdos, by the weirdos.
