Dìdi (弟弟)

2024 Ranked Didi is the best movie to come out in 2024 and counts into my favourite movies in general. I dont even know where to start... The acting was one of the best ive ever seen from such young actors, I forgot I was watching a movie at some point. The cinematography, mixed with the lighting, style and vibe was astonishing and so incredibly beautiful. It had an awesome story about a taiwanese teenager which is growing up in america and struggles with friends, family and other things too. Everything is being captured so well. All of the emotions and what he is going through are so realistic and strong. The characters are extremely authentic written and Didi also got one of the best movie scores, I mean I dont think anything could have been better or more fitting here. On top of that, this movie just felt so special to me and it just got the special something, that is missing in so many movies nowadays. I am might looking for the word soul. It knows what it wants to be and does a perfect job with it. It knows when to be sad, when to be funny and when to be emotional. And let me tell you, it does a perfect job at every single of those points. It mixed everything so well. It got some really funny humour, not too much though. Same for emotional and sad parts and everything else. Everything is just at the right place. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, but I am not sure if it is going to be the same experience as I had for everyone. But let me tell you, if you give Didi a try, you will not regret it. It is worth it, trust me. 9.5/10
