Boyhood
Richard Linklater is a genius in directing dialogue-based movies. This might be my favourite film of his cinematography. Raw, truthful , uncomfortable. realist. Spanning 12 years, this movie beautifully described people`s lives. Oh gosh , so many things to talk abt this. For example. the children`s mom, Olivia is perfectly portrayed, I believe. She is a psychology major who gave up his studies for her children but later on finishes her studies and becomes an university professor. It is like everyone has bad and good sides. She is a bad mom , has bad relationships with her divorced husbands ( not a great chooser there ) but so good of an university professor for other people that they come to her thanking her for changing their lives. At the same time, Mason seems to be this weird , what`s meaning of life kinda teeanger growing up but never have seemed to find purpose or meaning in his life. He pretends to lie abt things to blend in. He ruins her relationship with his girlfriend because of his insecurities. Just everything abt this movie seems highly realistic except Ethan motherfucking Hawke cos how tf does he hold diaolgues so good and how the fuck is he such a good divorced and unbeliavably honest. ( i hate him )
