Stoker
Never seen a movie where I care less about whether I can get behind the story. With a Lynch movie you embrace the insanity but this goes every which way of insane that you still try to follow it. It's so shlocky on paper and then it elevates it beyond belief to some of the strangest character dynamics put to screen.
That doesn't make sense but the style behind the idiosyncratic and volatile characters (with some pretty great casting) makes this terrifying and soooo unconfortable. Park Chan-wook pulls a lot of interesting threads of this to insert in Decision to Leave, which I will say feels like a much more mature thriller from him, although it is really fun to see this one time incidence where he makes an english-langauge film.
