Wolfwalkers
I saw this post the other day saying that in the age of AI the future of art will be perfectly imperfect, and I truly believe that if you want proof of that, look to this film. Experimentation and a desire to truly push the boundaries of your preferred medium will come to forefront of pop culture. This is already seen in music as of late; artists who are very obviously passionate about moving the collective goalpost of their respective genres and honestly music as a whole. Yet they’re still having fun. The ghosting and sketchiness in this movie feels like traces of humanity in the art; flaws that contribute to the final product and don’t take away from this concept of “perfection” or “professionalism” that the animation industry has seemed so unbelievably focused on for years and years. Genuinely gorgeous man.
