The Nice Guys

Rating: 87% and stuff Second movie of the night with Russell Crowe and Kim Basinger in Los Angeles. Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe are great together. The mystery itself is definitely not the reason I love this movie. It’s the chemistry between these two, the comedy, and just how much personality the whole movie has. Gosling is hilarious as this incompetent mess of a private investigator, while Crowe is the perfect person to balance his character out. I also love the 70s setting and the way the detective story is mixed with a really goofy sense of humor. It can get pretty ridiculous, but there’s enough actual mystery underneath it to keep it from feeling like nothing more than a comedy. This is just an incredibly entertaining movie. Gosling and Crowe have a ton of chemistry that made me immediately want another movie with them together. It’s a crime that 10 years later this movie doesn't have a sequel.
