of course, i don't fully understand every little bit and piece of philosophy that lars throws into this film, but i really don't think that leads to any lesser understanding of the film as a whole. even as jack spouts all his reasoning of why he is justified in killing and how beautiful his work actually is and why he is one of the few people truly following a "god's" command, his eventual destination is still the very depths of hell. his justification of depravity is meaningless, as the only person who believes it is himself.

there has to be a better way to show time progression than flashing "thirteen years earlier" every other scene.

thank god i was born to centrist christian parents, not conservative christian parents.
