Gunbuster

(rewatch) Don't think of Gunbuster as just an ordinary machine! This machine has Coach's... Coach's... Coach's heart beating within it!!!!!!!!! ive seen gunbuster twice now, and revisiting it after seeing aim for the ace! and ideon is really special. i also think gunbuster still has one of the most beautiful endings in anime history, hands down. the deliberate black and white visuals as directorial choice strengthened the emotional catharsis reached in those final few scenes all the more. such an impressive debut for what would become one of the most influential directors of all time
