Transformers One
growing up with my dad, he introduced me to a lot, like, a lot of mecha-- gundam, patlabor, macross, etc. etc. one of the most predominant of them being transformers.
i wasnt as big of a fan of transformers as other people, i remember distinctly watching a lot of the original cartoon with him and my sister to bond over, as well as watching a lot of the live action michael bay movies with the rest of my extended family. it was fun, and honestly, they were fond memories. but i wasn't exactly attached to the franchise per se.
transformers one did change a lot of that for me though. its a really, really fun movie, and did a lot to resonate that spark in me to enjoy transformers as much as other people did. probably one of the finest animated movies to come out this year, i appreciate it a lot especially in this sea of pixar and disney garbage thats come out-- theres still faith for making genuinely special things that this medium has to offer
