the David halberstam book is better. every story in this doc has been told 1,000 times, and the insights into the Michael Jordan persona were non-esistant outside of his sociopathic need to win at all costs and this thing is ten hours looooooong. potential to draw some interesting subtext out of America’s total embrace of a psychopathic cipher devoid of any tangible beliefs outside of being the greatest basketball player of all time , with some Clinton-era ‘end-of-history’ bullshit sprinkled on top, but that is above my pay grade. the archival footage is untouchable though. just give me a ten hour mixtape of that.
