C'mon C'mon
To visit planet earth, you will have to be born as a human child.
At first, you will have to learn to use a human body. To move your arms and legs, to pull yourself upright.
You will learn to walk, and run, to use your hands, to make sounds and form words
Slowly, you will learn to take care of yourself
Here it is still and peaceful, but there the colours, sensations and sounds will wash over you constantly.
You will see so many living things, plants and animals, beyond imagining. Here it is always the same, vut there everything is in motion, everything, is always changing.
You will be plunged into Earth's river of time.
There will be so much for you to learn, and so much for you to feel, pleasure and fear, joy and disappointment, sadness and wonder.
In your confusion and delight, you will forget where you came from. You will grow up, travel and work.
Perhaps you will have children, even grandchildren of your own.
Over the years you will try to make sense of that happy, sad, full, empty, always-shifting life you are in
And when your time comes to return to your star, it may be hard to say goodbye to that strangely beautiful world.
Damn this book...
"*C'mon C'mon" *is a film about human society, it's behaviours and how children accept the world they were born in, with their innocent perspective of life as it is.
It's a film beautifully written, with a casting that excels what I imagined I would get from this film before putting play on my Television. Mike Mills, as a writer and director, breaks every wall here in character building, using book excerpts in several situations and REAL SURVEYS, as the kids responses were genuine and natural, not staged.
This way, Mike got as a result this film, in a gorgeous black and white that makes us get to feel more, to understand more of our characters and their humanity.
Jesse, a child is taken care by Johnny in this case, his uncle, while his mum goes see how the father is holding up from his psychotic breakdown and ER all in all.
It's hard to criticize anything of this film, the dialogues and narrative follow a beautiful thread as we get to know our characters more deeply and profoundly.
Have you ever thought about the future?
Uh, yeah
Uh, whatever you plan on happening, never happens. Stuff you would never think of happens. So you just have to... You have to come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on...(giggles)
Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny...
Johnny is a bit strange. Um, he's really fun.
He makes me laugh.
He is really funny when he wrestles.
He might be my best friend, cause he only has two friends, but he might be my best friend, I dont know.
Blah, bla, blah, bla, blah...
Cmon cmon, tells a story by envisioning us with the perspective of the young and resignificating the deep and innocent thoughts we have as innocent souls.
All of this, while building the story of an uncle and his nephew throughout New York.
Joaquin Phoenix shines and outshines every possible facet of the character with a super talented Woody Norman, with an incredible and stunning child performance.
Jesse: [interviewer voice] Have you ever thought about the future?
[normal voice]
Jesse: Ahh yeah, whatever you plan on happening never happens. Stuff you would never think of happens. So you just have to c'mon c'mon, c'mon c'mon c'mon
Cmon cmon may not be for everyone, but it's appealing to every human soul, everybody with an emotion being and capable of feeling
Jesse: Be funny comma when you can period.
Jesse: It's Saturday... I Get To Be Loud On Saturday
Cmon cmon closes its argument as one of the most unexpected films I've came across that absolutely loved and have dear in my heart from now on, amazing work
Hey Jesse, this is Mozart, your intense and overly emotional uncle. When I woke up you were blaring crazy opera music
I was surprised that your mum had left, but you didn't seem bothered. You just pretty much... Accepted me.
I showed you my recorder, but you didn't want to be interviewed. You recorded the besch, the sounds of the city
I had to go back to New York and I asked you to come with me, and you just said "I'd love that".
And then you couldn't sleep, and you were just talking a mile a minute, and you got a million things to say, and what about approached, and how to record...
And I could never actually stop you, and then I kept trying, and I wish I wouldn't have.
Now I wanna hear all of your crazy thoughts and cool ideas.
And then we were in bed, you asked...
Are you gonna remember any of this?
Maybe
And that's like, our awesome sleepovers.
And you said you won't remember it
No, I said "you won't remember it", I will remember it
I won't remember?
I said, "I hope you do", and you got so upset."
And I said, "I'll remind you of everything"
