Fargo
Definitely a film for the records by the Coen brothers. Tragic story with a cathartic cast and very eloquent story.
It's terrific how people can lie so bluntly to the face of one another just for their own gain, without foreseeing any consequences that may foray to them later on. Most characters think for their own gain, except the policewoman, being quite honest and true to her relationship, or is she? Nevertheless, her relationship is a huge contrast to Jerry's. A couple that's honest and talkative with each other. Something which didn't happen in the other one.
There is a constant reminder between each character and how they lie to each other's face without remorse. Most of these characters have an immediate or consequent punishment. Like Gaear being found just because he didn't want to give away the car to Carl. Or Carl being greedy over paying half of the car's worth to his partner when he had, 920k stashed in the snow. Same with Mike lying about the death of his wife, a woman who was alive.
Who can you truly trust?
