Kramer vs. Kramer
"Why can't a woman have the same ambitions as a man?"
Dustin Hoffman is TERRIFIC, his doings, his pace, the way he approaches the character, it's simply wonderful
It's such a great plot and it's so well written cause it is not casual that the way the story presents to us through Ted Kramer and not Joanna. The reason why we see the 18 months and the relationship Ted has with Billy is only cause that's all the real bonding Ted ever did with his son. Before that it was all Joanna, and we get to the conclusion of seeing how they come to terms with one another.
Ted needed Joanna to leave him so he would react and change cause nothing else would and the amount of nuances and subtle little things that change throughout time and make Ted a better father are beautiful.
This movie is simply timeless, could watch it again and I would cry again. Fuck yes, give it to me.
It's a lesson in parenthood and in being in healthy relationships both as a human, parent and husband/wife.
