Manhattan
I think this is clearly art. If not what is it?
The way we purposefully watch our character unfold his life as New York would have liked it, frantically, impishly and boldly throughout the city as love blooms and ceases.
The three women in this film represent the unachievable past, tragic present and hopeful future, how we would like to perceive life as it is and what's awaiting us in the future.
All the uncertainties and inconsistencies in our love life can be justified with the scenery, which in a way represents our way of being and the way we percieve other people and their mannerisms. How do we truthfully adapt to true love, is that love something we singlehandedly do to fulfill our own egos and lust? Are we more submerged in ourselves when we meet someone which makes us feel and understand how we truly are, someone which boosts our ego and shares the same values we do?
But what if that true love was fighting with someone, hating them and seeing them differently so that you couldnt help but love them forever, so intensely and poignant that you'd be willing to run over their love interest for the sake of your marriage and relationship.
A hell lot to consider and I seriously laughed a lot. Woody Allen writes excellently so.
AND THE PHOTOGRAPHY. OH GODDDDDDD. ITS AMAZING. SO STUNNING IN THAT BLACK AND WHITE AAAAA
