Oldboy
Park Chan Wook, what can I say, oh dear.
Having this been my second Park Chan Wook film, watched in the fucking cinema, it displays a gorgeous seeing of what a man deprived from life, from his own
Bigger prisión
As he claims to himself, he is just living the life again, with the knowledge of popular culture.
The symbolism within Oldboy, such as the hand movements when the brother kills himself, claiming that he took his own life when letting her sister go, and that life didn't have a meaning not purpose after that
Cinematographically speaking there are tons of framings, wide shots with the characters being little and tiny in comparison to this whole world built by the brother.
From taking his tongue off to brutal massacre in amazing shots that go from closeups covering parts of the face, to the corridor scene where he takes up everyone up with a hammer.
Oldboy tells a story, it makes you flinch, twist, die in agony for the main character. In between empathy and hatred or disgust, the spectator feels all these things while watching and a rewatch resignificates it all in a different way, that's why cinema was created.
Im speechless, this is worth every fucking second
