Black Swan
“The only person standing in your way is you”
“Black Swan” is a film that shows the obstacles of the mind itself in the search for perfection. Nina is the representation of seeking for perfection, and gradually she loses her innocent traits. As a White Swan, she is perfect, innocent, and pure, unlike the Black Swan, she is too pure and not sensual enough to be perfect. The consequences of this role were that she lost her naive traits and began to be exposed to a dark adult world. Yet, the film also has a great focus on mental disorders and the fact that many ignore or do not even realize the symptoms of them. Certainly, for me “Black Swan”* is capable to reflect my life in many aspects, besides the fact that this film is literally a female version of “Whiplash.”*
