The Bride!

If the first 10 minutes hadnt felt like a cringey fact file on Mary Shelley this would be 5 stars. In fact tbh the whole film would've benefitted from not trying to speak for Mary Shelley especially since they were trying to frame this as the feminist things she wanted to say but couldnt.......... she very much says feminist things through Frankenstein. This was more of a feminist take on the movie which is fine!!! I liked it in that context!!! Just maybe dont bring her into this! I loved it sm, I've heard extremely mixed opinions and I dont care. Jessie Buckley deliverssssssssss despite some of the VERY cringey things she must say as part of the script. Some of it is camp some of it is 😬😬. But there are also some scenes i really really liked and it was fun.
