Undeniable style about this, it's just unadulterated fun!!! Henenlotter's films may not be everyone's thing but I would for sure recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful, dreamy, gory watch :3 My favourite part is when Aylmer is singing his tune over Brian begging for help <3 "𝘓𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯, 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯'" – "𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙢𝙚." – "𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵" – "𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙩." – "𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵" – "𝙅𝙪𝙞𝙘𝙚..."

"𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚'𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒓𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒆. 𝑰 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚'𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘, 𝒎𝒚 𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝒎𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒂 𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒈𝒊𝒓𝒍. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝑰'𝒗𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒂 𝒅𝒊𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒕!" Exactly as strange and unpredictable as I love for a film to be :3 really stressed me out that I had no clue where this would go at any given time, only knowing that it can't possibly lead anywhere good. So glad I waited until it was dark to watch this, the title is so perfect- it feels like those surreal hours during the night where everything is peculiar and seems "off". Like a weird dream dimension?? Paul couldn't be having a worse night if he tried holy shit, like everything that could go wrong, did! Quite literally Murphy's law 😭😭

Unremarkable, lacks any genuine emotion. You just don't end up giving a shit about Jake's life or what became of him, like it's all his own doing, sure, toxic masculinity ultimately was his downfall, but it's hard to care about any of it. I guess that's to say the writing was weak? Don't get me wrong though, it was well acted (also, Jesus, Robert De Niro was unrecognizable in this, when I'd read that was him playing Jake it was a real shock! The prosthetics were phenomenal, I actually cared more about the art of that than the way the story went lmao)

"𝘓𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯, 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘰𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩?" — "𝑰'𝒎 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒖𝒔𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒐𝒄𝒄𝒖𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒕, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒎𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒅 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆. 𝑾𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒏'𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒂𝒚?" Had a lot of fun watchin' this, Al Pacino is so cute like I just wanna put him in my pocket n carry him around :'3 enough about my psychological issues though, this is genuinely phenomenal, I love how compassionate Arthur is, a good lawyer is one who gives a shit about their clients. That ending left me mouth agape just staring at the screen, SO fucking good. Al Pacino may very well be the best actor I've ever seen, he brings such a large amount of energy to every character he plays, he's always so believable, you really feel for them!!! 5 stars for his performance in this alone, holy shit
