Moonlight
Moonlight definitely has some of the best acting ive witnessed so far, the movie feels like as if you were accompanying the main character from childhood to adolescence until adulthood.
Chiron's mimic and bodylanguage is changing immensly thorough the movie, yet his quiet and concealing way of communicating remains, which indicates that the only thing he had changed were aspects which converted his persona not his true self.
his emotions and tone are from begin on monotonous, due to them potraying a risk, thus him seeking for love in any relationship has concluded to consequenses for him, which led him to close up entirely and lose his expectations for love and affection.
In addition to the writing of the characters being beyond excellent, moonlight also carries great cinematography, which doesnt only look stunning but conveys symbolism, with the colour blue being extant through every scene, which does not only takes a prominent part in Black art through history but also represents melancholy – the feeling chiron was expressing without any words.
All in all moonlight is another A24 masterpiece and from my perspective the best movie of the 2010s and therefore an essential watch for anyone out there.
