Hamnet
“I’ll be brave.”
—————
I don’t think I’ve ever been affected by a movie this much.
I just walked home from the theater. I’ve literally been sitting in my apartment in silence. I don’t know how to express my feelings after the movie.
Jessie Buckley is getting the Oscar without a doubt in my mind; I loved her in I’m Thinking About Ending Things, and this is even a notch or two above that. Paul Mescal is once again amazing, but Buckley’s performance is the best I’ve seen in a while.
Max Richter is one of my favorite composers, and he continues with this. I knew “On The Nature of Daylight” was featured and thought I was prepared, but as it played, I genuinely cried so hard.
Genuinely do not think I’ve cried this hard at any movie before. I was a bumbling mess by the time the credits came on.
This is undoubtedly my top movie of the year, and it will be in my top movies of all time. Thank you to the individuals who finally convinced me to watch it.
