Sentimental Value
-I can't work with him.
-Why?
-We can't really talk.
Each film is an introspection into our feelings, into the inner thoughts we carry that are often difficult to explain and even to feel (in some way). In every character, we look for a way to relate and connect intimately with them—to understand them, and at the same time understand ourselves, because they act in similar ways or go through situations that make us feel identified with them. It is truly important to feel, and at the same time to understand what we are feeling.
Sentimental Value strongly reflects on this point. Each character (and even the house) becomes part of a process and a path toward acceptance, toward reconnecting with emotions, which makes it truly meaningful in a world where we are so detached from ourselves. I loved the performances, the story, and the cinematography. I truly connected with it on a deep level.
