Challengers
That’s one way to end a film.
**Also, the music and churro.

I usually run away from films that radiate sexual tension from the first look at the trailer.
But somehow, gave this a shot.
I was seriously reconsidering my decision for the first quarter, expecting the film to completely go out the window.
Surprisingly, I was HOOKED. Luca Guadagnino tells the story in such an interesting manner (which is now why I feel like I need to watch CMBYN). Every other scene drips in symbolism and the best part- everyone gets it.
While the tension and drama did make me squirm in my seat (it’s what I expected myself doing for the entirety of the film) the end made it so wonderfully worth it.
I could place myself in Patrick’s shoes totally understanding the war going on in his mind.
I’m so happy it ended the way it did. I see it as the triumph of childhood friendship (those smiles at the end went crazy) and I don’t care if there are any hidden implications that state otherwise.
I am probably never gonna rewatch this one because of what it put me through, but definitely will recommend.
