SURA
A certain phrase keeps following me ever since I’ve came across it - hauntingly beautiful - and this movie perfectly captures the haunting thoughts and fears of the protagonist in the most beautiful way. You need to look closely and follow - because the movie subtly places elements to convey the feel and feelings at various moments while also depicting the dilemmas and fears of a man who has lost his dream job to a man he least suspected to. The score is what could be termed as Mangalorean Jazz, if we can call that, perfectly brings out everything that I’ve mentioned so far. Let’s not forget the way the shrine of Mahishasura is created, it’s some top-notch art direction and production work. And it’s always a treat to listen to some Yakshagana music in a film that’s making rounds in the international film circuit so all I can wish is good luck to the team :)
