the team behind this really outdid themselves  the movie started off pretty stale but it got better as the dynamic between paul and angus evolved  da’vine joy randolphs performance in the party scene was also so good and it almost brought me to tears this is probably the best modern christmas movie since klaus

i see why a lot of people have this among their favourite christmas movies but for me its just outside this movie kinda has a lot of sub plots that can make the movie feel bloated and unfocused however by the end all are wrapped up satisfactorily other than the one abt the english guy in america

while this movie is basically just the first but in nyc i still think theres a lot of value in it i feel like setting it in nyc did add a little more to the festivity but lost the more personal and grounded approach of the first movie i prefered the kevins traps in this one even though they became a lot more unrealistic  i also liked how many side characters they added like the pigeon lady and mr duncan

this is definitely not a christmas movie. not because christmas isnt essential to the plot but because christmas is treated like an afterthought compared to a movie like home alone which clearly puts christmas at the forefront  this movie was also kinda repetitive. a lot of scenes after the first acted dragged and many were similar making the movie feel kinda bloated
