Dogville

If Grace had gone to the prairie, none of this would have happened and they’d have set her up with Mr. Edwards real fast!  My first Lars von Trier and I think I made the right call on my pick. I loved the quirky chapter titles, and while the beginning of the film felt a bit like theater, as it goes on it feels a little less silly. Like we’re definitely meant to laugh at the lady raking concrete, right?  I need to watch this again with subtitles, as the copy I rented was German and only had them in Dutch. I could barely understand a word Tom Edison Jr. was saying and I feel like I need to pay attention to his story more to get a better understanding of this film, but I still enjoyed it regardless.
