really loved the messages of forgiveness and sincerity vs lies/manipulation/appearances. go min-si delivered in her role as culinary jesus. temple scenes were lovely. food design was on point. i ate up every shot of a snow-covered town. the sapporo arc was for sure the weak point and there was some wasted potential with making a more impactful backstory. it felt like it was an entirely different show quite honestly. but not totally mad because it still felt like something new, and the final arc was perfectly angsty and wrapped up nicely.
i really didn’t expect to like this as much as i did as i continue my k-drama slump, but wowwwww. this and oh my ghost remind me that i love a show about food. also kang ha-neul’s character literally deserves a rico case for all the scheming but we forgive him i guess?
