PearlAshley9.7· December 18, 2022Followwatched pearl as a double feature with x and Mia Goth just keeps getting better. pearl is a very sincere but unsettling story, and it was so well made. pearl is insecure, vulnerable and very much in pain, just like almost all of us. the storyline was intriguing and not complicated, I like how some parts were just implied. this ties in very well as a prequel to x. the retro fonts at the start and end were so cute, love it. the background music and sound effects were so on point and fit so well with every scene, to depict various emotions. I honestly thought after she'd killed the projectionist she'd wake up from a dream cause I thought It was too early for him to be killed LOL. the German lullaby was a perfect touch to the scene towards the end where she gets rid of the bodies and sets her parents up at the table. LOVE THAT SCENE SO MUCH though I am not a big fan of the transitions, the split screen and all that. nonetheless, such a great scene. pearl talking for a straight six minutes and showing all that emotion was too good, actually phenomenal. I really liked that because the camera didn't move, and all was perfectly still. Mia Goth is INCREDIBLE. pearls monologue and the ending credits might as well be on the top of my list as best shots EVER. I think I like pearl more than x and x was already a five star from me. summing up the scenes I really really liked:pitchfork and the projectionistwhen pearl killed her dad, the camera shot on the birdpearl talking for a straight six minspearl running after mitzy with the axewhen pearl disposed of the bodiesthe entire ending + the ending credits sceneCommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the app
