The Notebook
RYAN IS SO CUTIE PIE IN THIS AT THE START AND I CANT BREATHE IVE BEEN CRYING AT THIS FILM IVE CRIED SEVEN (inaccurate, more tears were definitely shed) SEPARATE TIMES AT DIFFERENT PARTS OF THIS IM UNWELL. I CANT TAKE THIS
these Ryan Gosling films trying to destroy me, for the second time in like three days. i didnt expect to be hit this hard by this. i honestly put off watching this for so long because i thought i wouldnt like it and it seemed like just another long romantic drama. but i thoroughly enjoyed this. and am also broken by this. like i was literally crying 45 minutes in. and i cried for a good ten minutes after. it was devastating to see them broke apart like they were, and the thought of not saying goodbye to someone without explanation and clarification is excruciating.
i also made the painful mistake of looking at the cast list and realising the entire plot of the story halfway through the film and i just started uncontrollably crying. but also the fastest 2 hours of my life. i was so invested in this. the pacing was really good. yes this film is seemingly overrated or i could see why people say that about this but i really love this. it was very simple yet powerful. a part of the end was quite cheap in the sense that she suddenly kind of remembered but i still cried anyway.
its so painful to think that one day we really might forget, someone we've loved our whole lives might forget. and tha we all actually die anyway. i just never really thought about it before but this film does inspire me in so many ways.
i actually forgot James Marsden was in this and he looks great as ever. Ryan Gosling i will never get sick of you... this was another amazing performance from him and it's only fuelling my love for him more. Rachel McAdams is no exception here either she is also so so amazing.
