Titane
"I don't care who you are. You're my son. You'll always be my son. Whoever you are."
something i'll always think about from now on...
this is unlike anything i've ever watched but this is everything you could ever want in a film. thrill, cars, sex, gore, family and tragedy a hint of comedy. and this was also really giving Denis Villeneuve. so visually stunning. i didn't like Raw but i loved this. Raw was alright but it wasn't as good as i expected. this, however, was on a different level altogether. it was seriously amazing. and weirdly heart warming. it was oddly humane and very human despite the cars and mechanical parts and aspects of this film. this juxtaposition is insane and im in awe of how this film managed to come to be.
painful and gruesome, the "gore" included in this could be (in my opinion) compared to that of Nymphomaniac's / The Tribe's abortion scene. i always use them as comparison cause those were the films i actually had to look away or skip for those particular scenes. i felt the same while watching this as i had when watching those. i definitely did have to look away once or twice, it felt as if i could literally feel the pain depicted in the film. which is pretty impressive acting. Agathe Rousselle is truly phenomenal.
comedy because that one scene with the firefighters in the purple lit room was kind of funny. the song choice, the movements, the slomo. also, the music score was really great i liked it a lot. need a rewatch or a few more days to think about this to talk about it deeper.
never would i have thought i'd see CPR and the macarena being done and sung together.. and NOT GONNA LIE I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE MOTORCYCLE HELMET OR SOMETHING... i'm dying to see how it looks like
