Priscilla
I felt like we alway idolized men for what if great artist they are in work, careers or even looks. We never believe they are capable of being or doing wrong until it’s spoken about. That would be fine on an account of the people feeling the same passion for women. We see a woman’s side of a story compared to a man and it’s almost unclear to why another part of a story is made when we already a version we want to see. Society picks and chooses who gets the side of the story correct whether it’s gender. We pick off what we wanna think what’s true which is absolutely ridiculous. What’s true is Priscilla was just a 14 year old girl and like other 14 year old girls at the time, not able to realize a bigger picture to what older people in life do: manipulate. Elvis trauma dumped on her from the start and used her as an object. Doesn’t matter if they didn’t sleep together till she was an adult. Once she figured out what she wanted which was a life of her own I thought her leaving at the end was so bittersweet. Not just a good for her moment but I moment to reminisce of what love she had with Elvis and what love she needs. I love Elvis but this is just the story that’s true and needs to be heard. With beautiful directing as always, Sophia Coppola delivers a fine piece with having elements of glamour and tragedy. A film to truly watch.
