Adolescence
"Adolescence" is absolutely the perfect length, it has great performances all around, the highlight for me being the ones from the family in the final episode (in particular Stephen Graham's), and the concept of being shot in a continuous manner was well executed and works perfectly for this project.
There’s a particular thing that I found really interesting in this series, which I’d be very curious to understand if it was a purposeful writing/directorial choice or not. Although they show the video of the stabbing right in the first episode, the way the series is written
made me hold out hope, up until the very last scene at the house in the fourth episode, as I was convinced that there would be a big plot twist at the very ending that would prove Jamie’s innocence. However, the fact that the writers/creators made it so that it shows the aftermath of the crime and how it tore every family member to shreds is heartbreakingly effective.
This is the kind of series that does deserve the hype around it.
