I loved the concept of the patient-psychiatrist bond that slowly evolves as the film continues. Honestly the plot confused me thoroughly until the ending, but I enjoyed being confused in a way? It was nice to slowly piece together Henry's mind and also the plot at the same time. The dialogue shown between Ewan McGregor and both Naomi Watts and Ryan Gosling was beautiful to see unfold. The evolution of McGregor was amazing and so was the similarities between Watts' character and Goslings. The cinematography is flawless with both transitions and beautiful scenes it was a visual masterpiece. The pacing was great, however slightly confusing as points link together over the course of the film. I loved the choice to evolve characters wardrobes while Henry's outfit remains the same over the days in which the film takes place that reflects McGregor's changing view of the scenario while Gosling retains the same standpoint.
