‘06 My angel, *flung out of space. 🪽* Fourth favourite is a recent watch I loved!

I just don’t think this was my cup of tea. It felt very uncomfortable not least given the fact that the reason both parties believed they’d be interested in a group was because the men in each relationship had been checking out the women - feels kinda pervy and a weird narrative to push in a comedy but maybe that’s just me.

Forever my comfort movie

this is soo if codywith2rs made a resident evil film LOL

Very beautiful design and concept. But the film is severely lacking in its ability to move through time effectively. Certain scenes dragged on to the point of complete boredom yet other plot points felt underdeveloped as if they could have been excluded entirely. Particularly the female characters in this felt underdeveloped and entirely secondary to their male counterparts. I am aware as an art form Kabuki was made exclusively male (despite being invented by Izumo no Omani, a woman who executed these performances with a troupe of female wandering dancers..) due to subordination of women at the time of its creation, but I think it would have been interesting to acknowledge the influence of women on the art form both due to its creation by a woman and also given its performance by woman in its early years of existence. Overall given that, this film felt very heavy on testosterone not least given the random (unnecessary) fight scenes added every 30 minutes. I would like to see a film with a similar premise but executed better, possibly even directed by a woman who understands the art form and its origins. Acting was however amazing.
