2046
2046 is the most complex film WKW has ever made. Also, it contains nothing like other WKW films, like no stunning cinematography, physical intimacy is a lot, and the worst of them all, the non linear narrative which is confusing as hell but I see this film as WKW's oeuvre, like he tries to combine every theme, every little detail he ever showed in his films and makes something different. I read something about the no. 2046 and how it appears in nearly every WKW film, so this film is the culmination of WKW's cinema, he kind of wrote Chow Mo Wan's character to express everything he ever wanted to.
Like in the film, with every Christmas eve, a new chapter begins in his life but he couldn't let go of his love, he himself doesn't know about this. By the end somehow, he becomes aware about this, realized he broke hearts of someone who loved him despite his flaws, yet he chooses to live the way he is, and never let go of Su Li Zhen.
PS- if i were a girl, i would let Tony Leung do me all the time.
