“'Cause love's such an old-fashioned word; And love dares you to care for the people on the edge of the night and love dares you to change our way of caring about ourselves; This is our last dance”
type of movie that makes you sit in silence for at least 30 minutes after you finish it and rethink everything in your life. while providing us with one of the most bright and gorgeous cinematographies, they were able to build up a tension, making us think something really bad was about to happen any time soon. I felt empty once the movie finished because everything he did deeply touched me; buying the rug for her when he couldn’t afford it just so she would have something to remind her of that trip (and the rug being on her apartment later), recording their goodbye, not being able to answer certain things like the “we can’t stay in a hotel forever” because, in a way, he knew he would be staying there forever. and also the meaning behind the last scene, where, as I see, he ended up giving in the strobe lights that could represent everything that tortured him in his mind; throughout the movie, these lights were only flashing, but once Sophie left, he completely walked in on it.
I’ll never listen to “Under pressure” in the same way.
