Train Dreams
Today I wept for the first time in a countless number of days. I usually see crying as pointless as anything else, nobody will hear me and it will change nothing. The world continues on at its endless, fixed pace. But as Robert Grainier's own pointless journey had concluded, it felt as if nothing were more important. I hope there's a message somewhere in that. I hope the loneliness I often feel or the tears I rarely shed are as important as the bugs, the river, the preacher, or the hermit. I hope that when I've lost everything I once cared so deeply for that it seemed nothing else mattered, that nothing will be something enough for me.
